What We Believe

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer

What We Believe

At Home Church Nashville, we believe in a vibrant, living faith that transforms lives and communities. We  are rooted in the rich theological heritage of Methodism while actively seeking to live out our faith in ways that are relevant and impactful for today's world.

Here's what guides us:

God's Expansive Love: We believe in a God whose love is boundless, unconditional, and extends to all people, regardless of their background, identity, or journey. This love, revealed most fully in Jesus Christ, calls us to embrace and celebrate the inherent worth and dignity of every individual.

The Grace of Jesus Christ: We believe that through Jesus Christ, God offers grace to all – a gift of salvation, forgiveness, and new life. This grace empowers us to grow in faith, to live justly, and to love extravagantly.

The Empowering Presence of the Holy Spirit: We believe the Holy Spirit is actively at work in the world and in our lives, guiding us, comforting us, and empowering us to be agents of God's love and justice.

The Bible as a Living Word: We believe the Bible is a primary witness to God's revelation, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and a vital source of guidance for our faith and lives. We approach scripture with prayerful study, open hearts, and a commitment to understanding its transformative message for our contemporary context.

Discipleship as a Journey: We believe that following Jesus is a lifelong journey of growth, learning, and service. We strive to be disciples who are not only hearers of the Word but doers, actively seeking to embody Christ's love in our daily lives and in the world.

Community and Connection: We believe that faith is best lived out in community. We are committed to building a welcoming and authentic space where everyone can belong, find support, ask questions, and grow together in faith. We believe in the power of shared meals, honest conversations, and mutual care.

Mission and Justice: We believe that our faith calls us beyond ourselves to actively participate in God's work of transforming the world. We are committed to seeking justice, serving those in need, and working for the flourishing of all creation, here in Nashville and beyond.

At Home Church Nashville, we invite you to come as you are, explore what it means to be part of a vibrant faith community, and discover how God is at work in your life and in our world.
